OR
ii. Pick up one (1) new member fro a team of the same Unit who participated in the Heats, but that did not qualify for the Semis. This person CANNOT be a designated import (from another Unit).

The ONLY way you can make a substitution is by submitting a SUBSTITUTION REQUEST by midnight the night before your race. To submit your request, please email storm@rec.ubc.ca with the subject: Substitution Request.

Important things to note:
*This is a permanent, one time only substitution. The person who could not race in Semi’s and has chosen to request a substitute, the original team member who didn’t race in Semi’s CANNOT race in finals with that team.
* After Semi’s your roster is FINAL. No changes to roster will be permitted after Semi’s.
*Participants from Just for Fun teams CANNOT be used as substitutes
* You can only make ONE substitution to your team throughout the duration of Storm the Wall.

Wall Regulations

Heats and Semi-Finals:

Men's Teams - A person must first be assisted over the front side of the wall before being allowed to assist from the top of the wall. Once over the wall, team members can climb down the back side of the wall (rung by rung) and return to the front of the wall to assist other members over.

Women's and CoRec Teams - A maximum of two persons are allowed to climb up the back side of the wall (without having gone over themselves first) to assist teammates from the top of the wall.

Finals:

Men's Teams - A person must first be assisted over the front side of the wall before being allowed to assist from the top of the wall. Once over the wall, team members cannot come back to the front side of the wall to assist people over. The last team member will have to run, jump and grab onto the person’s hand who is at the top of the wall.
*In this situation, you may have 2 people at the top of the wall helping team members over but you MUST have a third/fourth person acting as a brace for these people.

Women's and CoRec Teams- same rules as in heats and semi-finals.

All teams, all races:

All team members must go over the wall. Maximum of 2 people at the top of the wall to help team members over.

Clinic Attendance

All teams must ve at least ONE TEAM MEMBER attend the Clinics Safety Presentation (classroom portion) in order for your team to be able to participate in the event. We highly recommend having your entire team attend the clinic so you can watch the safety presentation as well as practice on the walls. This will likely give you an advantage on race day.

Attendance will be taken at Clinics and someone MUST sign in with a UBC REC Staff Member.

In order to be able to practice at the wall, your team must have 4 people in attendance at the clinic and ALL 4 people must have watched the presentatio
